Which? magazine warns of buying whitening products on the Internet

The Consumer's Association's Which? magazine September edition has reported on the problems associated with buying illegal tooth whitening products on the Internet. They found that sellers on Amazon, eBay and Google were advertising products with up to 44% carbamide peroxide - a concentration that could easily burn the lining of the mouth if it's not protected.

28% of people who bought over the Internet were DISSATISFIED
9% experienced white spots on gums and lips, indicating CHEMICAL BURNS
9% got BROWN STAINING, suggestive of acidic products damaging enamel

Always consult your dentist if you want to have your teeth whitened. When carried out by a professional, tooth whitening is a safe and effective procedure which can produce excellent results.
